# Feel Something - Ep. 01 - Chapters of Light

I’m seven years old, standing in the yard,  
Dad’s teaching me to catch with hope that one day, his son will be a star,  
Fuelled by misguided confidence, I’m surely destined to go far.

Listening to songs about fireflies lighting up the night,  
10,000 bugs and my hope were what shone most bright,  
Tinkle in my eye now dwindling, almost out of spite.

Cartoon wizards from childhood shows wielding wands and potions,  
It must’ve been their magic I needed to put my dreams in motion,  
How much I wanted to achieve, maybe they’d help me if I could show them.

Like finding diamonds in the rough or needles in a haystack,  
Chasing what’s most valuable to you shouldn’t be the drawback,  
Yet through a splintered smile, my spirit faded, my soul about to crack.

Staring meekly at old photos of who I used to be,  
Struggling to believe that the person in this picture was once me,  
Just a guy I used to know, so happy and carefree.

Somewhere along the line, my wander disappeared,  
On the cusp of something beautiful, ripped away by fear,  
Settling for a life that feels like second tier.

Now at the age of 30, edging closer to defeat,  
Plagued by paralysing doubt, every small decision now a major feat,  
From finding my life purpose to choosing what to eat.

History will tell you that not all roads are paved with glory,  
Lost in the unknown potential of creating your own journey,  
So many chapters left to write, far from the ending of this story.
